A little help for the needy in Johor Bahru.

JOHOR BARU: While many others could afford to cut their hair with their favourite styles at an expensive saloon every month, a 10-year-old pupil from SK Taman Universiti 4 only asked for his hair to be cut neatly.

S. Sutheswaran, who lost his father in an accident two years ago, said the RM6 voucher from Johor Baru Central Municipal Council Penyayang Foundation meant a lot to him as it helped lessen his mother’s burden.

“Since my father passed away, my mother who is the sole bread winner of the family, has taken on two jobs in order to provide us with enough food, education and other necessities.

“My mother ferries kindergarten pupils in the morning and sews clothes in the evening until late at night at home,” said the second of four siblings from Taman Pulai Utama here.

SK Taman Universiti 2 pupil Mohammad Rifqi Shahabuddin, 10, also said he was happy to cut his hair at a proper barber shop.
