Johor Bahru Hub – AirAsia introduces two new routes to Indonesia.

Johor Bahru Hub Expands Flight Routes by Air Asia

KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia continues to expand its Johor Baru hub by introducing two new routes — connecting Johor Baru to Jakarta and reviving the Kuala Lumpur-Solo flights.

Its head of commercial, Spencer Lee, said the flights from Johor Baru to Jakarta would be three times a week beginning Jan 10, 2017, while flights to Solo would start from Jan 17, 2017.

“The promotional fares for the Johor Bahru-Jakarta flights are as low as RM99 one way, while the Kuala Lumpur-Solo flights are from RM149 one way.

“These fares can be booked online via AirAsia website from now until Nov 13, 2016,” he said in a statement on Friday.

Lee said over the years, AirAsia had worked hard to strengthen its connectivity with other hubs in Malaysia.

“We are delighted to announce another international route connecting not only Johoreans but also the Southern community directly to Jakarta and also providing more links for Indonesians to come to Malaysia,” he said.

Lee said with a population of about 23 million, it made Jakarta, the largest Indonesian city, a very lucrative route, while Solo, 65km from Jakarta, embodied the refined and sophisticated ideals of Javanese culture.

The AirAsia group (Malaysia AirAsia and Indonesia AirAsia) currently operates 125 weekly flights into the Senai International Airport, Johor Baru, inclusive of both domestic and international flights. – Bernama
