Here in Malaysia if you let them cut it up for you in the store, they chop it into small chunks and I hate that. I like it to be cut with the joints so you get the following parts.

  1. Chicken Breast
  2. Chicken fillets
  3. Chicken Wings
  4. Chicken Legs
  5. Chicken Thighs
  6. Plus whats left goes into the Stock pot to make Chicken Stock.

The Photos show the cuts I did from one chicken, Now if you had to buy each part pre wrapped they would cost a lot. Plus once you know how to do it and where to cut it is really easy and Quick to do.

Just remember, When handling chicken be aware of where you are putting your hands as nothing spread easier than chicken germs. Plus make sure you wash anything that touched the chicken while you cut it up before you do other foods.

The stock is made from the bones of two chickens, I always buy two full ones and cut them up that way two lots of bones are enough for a good amount of stock.
