New Road Germas to Johor Bahru
The RM9bil Gemas to Johor Baru double tracking project is expected to start next year and will take four years to be completed.
Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin said that the Federal Government has allocated RM400mil to kick-start the project.
“A big portion of the project will cover areas within the state and this will surely spur development,” he said after a working visit to the district here Sunday.
The project is expected to cover more than 250km.
During the visit, Mohamed Khaled presented land titles to 117 people including squatters involved in the relocation for the double tracking project from Kg Sathiya.
He reminded recipients not to sell the land plots or houses allocated to them for quick profits.
Mohamed Khaled also commended an initiative between the Kluang Municipal Council and a private developer to spend RM30mil to build a new road known as Bandar Kluang Middle Ring Road to ease traffic congestion.
The new four-lane road will ease congestion along Jalan Kota Tinggi, Jalan Mengkibol, Taman Muhibbah, Taman Intan and Taman Delima.
“Motorists can use this alternative road to travel to Ayer Hitam instead of using the town roads,” he said.
