Some 50,000 visitors are expected to throng the third and final installation of Iskarnival 2016, with some 110 talents in 128 events to be featured throughout this weekend at Puteri Harbour.

Festival director Nani Kahar said the “Sama-sama Iskarnival”, offering a wide range of activities, would have a carnival-like atmosphere and that people from all walks of life could participate.

“Among the main highlights would be a custom-made car and bike exhibition, coffee exhibition, bamboo installations by local and international artists and stand-up comedy shows throughout the event.

“From lifestyle workshops to cultural shows and music performance to career and education fairs, the public can look forward to have a good time here this weekend,” she said during a media briefing here on Tuesday.




Nani said that the coffee-lovers could try a wide range of local brands at the exhibition by the Coffee and Art Fringe Festival Asia (Caffa), which will also showcase a large number of Johor-based coffee makers.

“Visitors can also enjoy a complimentary yacht cruise within the marine by the Malaysian Navy, Marine police and Johor Sailing Association,” she said.

Konstruk co-curator Lisa Foo, who is in charge of the bamboo installation around the harbour, said that carnival goers would get the opportunity to admire 15 different gigantic sculptures made from some 9,000 bamboo sticks.

Art of Speed project manager Neezal Razali said that the exhibition would feature a wide range of vehicles, from Harley Davidson bikes to custom-made skateboards that motor heads are sure to love.

“There will be workshops and demonstrations on automotive customisation by mechanics,” he said, adding that international stunt riders Jack Field and Rhianna Buchanan (SIC) would also be showing off their skills during the event.

The public can opt to take free rides in four shuttle buses plying JB Sentral and Larkin to the event from 11am to 11pm during the two days.
