Setting up a home gym – I think most home owner would like to have a gym in their home.
But what does it entail to set it up. You may be surprised to find out that a home gym is available to most home owners.
Yes, you can construct a home gym for less money than you might think. But home gyms aren’t for everyone.
Some people need to get out of the house or they simply can’t motivate themselves to exercise regularly. The attraction of going a gym for me is to meet others who also are trying to get themselves fitter.
The biggest mistake people make is they go out and spend a ton of money on equipment like a treadmill that they never end up using. – I remember my first attempt at a gym I ended up using the treadmill to hold my tracksuit top etc. and hardly got used.
A full-length mirror to see yourself from head to toe is important. If you can watch your form and technique as you exercise it will dramatically lower your chances of injury, and this is important that you get good form early on in your training.
So Some things to put in your gym
- Set of dumbbells

- So you can use any or all of the above, I have one friend who uses nothing but the TRX Suspension training system and look really fit and healthy.
“Unless you’re planning to do body-building competitions, you can probably get fit enough with body weight exercises. Get a pull-up bar. Do pushups, body weight squats, and pull-ups (or at least chin-ups). Maybe throw in a jump rope for cardio (or just run). Later you might need some dumbbells when body weight squats are no longer enough work.”
“I personally love the TRX. It’s a suspension trainer, so you’re using your core on basically ever exercise. Your abs get a great workout no matter what you do, but you can also isolate the abs very well. You can also move quickly from one exercise to another, and it doesn’t take up a lot of room (very easy to pack with on vacation or business trips). It has a lot of versatility. For instance, you can do push-ups with your feet in the straps to really activate your core, or you can put your feet on the ground and use the handles for instability. You can put one foot in the strap and do reverse lunges. You can tie the two handles together and do one-arm rows, bicep curls, and more, all using your body weight. You can even shorten the handles a ton and try to do pull-ups on there.”
What ever equipment you do put into your home gym always read up on them so you can exercise safely.
