 I saw this on classic fm online magazine and thought it fun to share – I bet some of you will go and try it.. let us know if it worked for you….


Soon after the new five pound notes went into circulation, music geeks discovered that the edge of the plastic note just so happened to double up as a stylus for vinyl records.

By placing the corner of the note into the groove, you can use it as a tiny stylus and amplifier, though the results are not what you’d call ‘high fidelity’.

We gave it a shot using Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto:
